When indicated, blood counts, iron and ferritin, or vitamin B12 can help investigate concerns such as anemia or nutrient deficiency.
HOW I TREAT
A naturopathic, functional, and integrative approach to sleep, energy, mood, and hormonal concerns in the context of loss.
BEGIN WITH THE WOMAN
I begin with what has changed for you: your sleep, energy, appetite, concentration, mood, and interest in life. We look at the timing of those changes alongside your health before the loss.
Your cycle and stage of life, existing diagnoses, medicines and supplements, nutrition, and daily demands belong in that conversation. So do the support you have and the things that feel hardest to manage.
My role is to consider what may be contributing, identify concerns that need further assessment, and build a plan with you. Medical care and grief counseling can work alongside each other.
FUNCTIONAL LAB TESTING
I review the bloodwork you already have. Further testing is guided by your history and symptoms, and by whether the result could change your care.
When indicated, blood counts, iron and ferritin, or vitamin B12 can help investigate concerns such as anemia or nutrient deficiency.
Selected thyroid and metabolic tests—such as TSH, glucose, or A1c—may help evaluate medical contributors to fatigue and other symptoms.
Symptoms, cycle history, age, and medicines guide hormone assessment. Testing is used when it adds useful information; a hormone panel is not required for every woman.
If specialty or functional testing is considered, we discuss the clinical question, evidence, limitations, and cost before deciding. Results are interpreted alongside your full history.
Labs help investigate possible contributors to symptoms. There is no laboratory test that diagnoses grief.
HOW I TREAT
My approach brings practical foundations and individualized treatment together. We choose what fits your assessment, your preferences, and your capacity right now.
Personalized sleep routines, light exposure, pacing, and gentle movement. Mind-body practices, including breathwork, can be part of the plan when they feel supportive.
Clinical nutrition, practical meal strategies, and treatment of identified deficiencies. Botanical medicines or nutraceuticals may be considered with attention to evidence, tolerability, and medication interactions.
Individual care for identified hormonal, thyroid, or other medical concerns. Treatment may include appropriate prescriptions or coordinated specialist care, according to the diagnosis and my licensed scope.
Mood and loss of interest are part of the assessment. I help identify when grief counseling, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or another form of support belongs alongside your medical plan.
FOLLOW THROUGH
At follow-up, we review how you are sleeping, functioning, and tolerating treatment—not just the numbers on a report. We refine the plan and repeat testing only when it is clinically useful.
The aim is a clear, manageable next step, with space to change course as your needs change.
